![]() Saturday, December 13, 2003 [December 11, 2003] TAMPA - As embarrassing as it is for federal court officials, the erroneous shredding of thousands of files is not expected to be hugely disruptive to the justice system, several defense lawyers said Wednesday. Well, she probably "doesn't know of any other case" where the defendent befriended a CIA "valuable asset." If these documents were not "unsealed," we might never have known about this destruction of evidence in this case. There are "public corruption investigations during the time in question"? Very interesting! So now the official story on this is that "original search warrants and affidavits in the Sami Al-Arian prosecution" were shredded "between 1998 and 2002," due to a "misinterpretation" and a "misguided effort to make room for new files"? According to the indictment, http://news.findlaw.com/cnn/docs/alarian/usalarian0203ind.pdf [p. 16] "On or about December 27, 1991, in Chicago, Illinois, SAMI AMIN AL-ARIAN, Omar Abdel Rahman (“The Blind Sheik”)" and others "attended the Fourth Annual ICP Conference." The ICP [Islamic Committee for Palestine] was "founded" by Al-Arian. Since Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman was convicted in 1995, in connection with the 1993 WTC bombing and sent to prison, it is safe to assume that this "unprecedented destruction of every magistrate file from mid-1996 and earlier" also covered the period of time when this took place: Affidavit Ties In Al-Arian: "Sheik Rahman...visited Al-Arian's home and spoke at his mosque, the affidavit says. But it offers no details on when the alleged visit occurred or why. ICP [Islamic Committee for Palestine] records show the sheik also spoke at one of the group's annual conferences." Who is this Sheik Rahman? http://www.constitution.org/ocbpt/ocbpt_11.htm "To the CIA which pumped more than $2 billion into the fourteen-year Afghani resistance effort, Sheik Omar [Abdel Rahman] was what intelligence officials call 'a valuable asset.'" The CIA provided Rahman with a visa and a green card and hired him to come to New York and set up the institutions to recruit "mujahideen" to fight the Soviet army in Afghanistan. After the Cold War, Rahman was personally involved in key US intelligence operations in the Bosnia, through a "charity" called the Third World Relief Agency, involving the coordination of international arms smuggling to Bosnia, in addition to the recruitment of "mujahideen" and money laundering. How Bosnia's Muslims Dodged Arms Embargo "Western officials say [Sudanese diplomat Elfatih] Hassanein, who studied medicine in Yugoslavia and set up the Third World Relief Agency in 1987, apparently turned it into the chief broker of black-market weapons deals by Bosnia's Muslim-led government and the agent of money and influence in Bosnia for Islamic movements and governments around the world...... This was clearly part of larger US intelligence operation of smuggling arms and "mujahideen" to the Bosnia "jihad," with the assistance of Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and others. This was reported in the official Dutch Srebrenica inquiry. America used Islamists to arm the Bosnian Muslims The CIA does keep a close watch on their "valuable assets." Who made these arrangements and introduced Sami Al-Arian to Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman? Does Al-Arian have CIA contacts or was this done through some go-between? Well, this took place prior to 1996 and "original search warrants and affidavits," which might provide some clues, were shredded. ![]() FRONT PAGE
